Occasionally when you visit my blog you'll find that I link out to other websites. This is because I don't just write for myself, but for other publishers like We Are Explorers as well.

Over the past couple of months I've taken Alps & Amici hiking meals on a few overnight camping trips and outdoor dinners to test their suitability for the trail.

And wow, are they packed with flavour!

The meals are only 100g dry weight, vacuum-packed to take up the least amount of physical space, are consistently delicious, and are made from natural ingredients (you'll recognise every.single.one on the nutrient info panel.

My biggest win with Alps & Amici was discovering the freeze-dried pasta. It's just plain pasta but I'd eat it unaccompanied and go to sleep quite happy. No idea what wizardry they've used to make it taste this bloody good, but if you're a fan of pasta on the trail, you've absolutely got to give it a try. You'll thank me (and them!).
